"...young girls dream of horses. Some take lessons and learn to ride; the rest of us live and breathe all aspects of horses...forever scheming to own one. Any horse will do."
"Some take it a little farther...as I did."

Patricia Probert Gott

"Many years (and many horses) later, the real thing did come along. I was going to be a real cowgirl.

"This is my story."

Author and Wrangler friend atop Eagle Pass

"I was a forty-year-old divorced woman from Maine, running my own roller skating business when I applied for a summer job at Rimrock Dude Ranch in Wapiti Valley, outside Cody, Wyoming. My horse and I were hired by Glenn Fales, an old-time cowboy and ex-rodeo bronc rider who, with his wife Alice, had owned the ranch for thirty-five years."

DITZ, artist extraordinaire from London, England and a guest at Rimrock Ranch for very many years, writes:

"I loved your book, "So You Wanna Be A Cowgirl". Memories of Rimrock were brought back beautifully; I retraced my footsteps as you jogged my memory. Thank you."

The Wrangler Experience!

"My first experience wrangling horses found me galloping over a headwall, down a steep bluff, amidst a herd of 100 horses. After learning to guide with my own horse, meeting a bear, and surviving a 9500-foot climb up Table Mountain, we nearly slip 50-feet down a bank into the Shoshone River. All a part of becoming a cowgirl."

"...Cody's Annual Plains Indian Powwow, sponsored by the Buffalo Bill Historical Center, and set up on the south end of its parking lot. Cheyenne, Comanche, Kiowa, Crow, Blackfeet, and Sioux, along with Arapaho, Apache, Navaho, Shoshone, Nez Perce', Ute and Pawnee tribes were represented."

"...I was really happy to have him as my wrangler partner for the summer. Together we vetted the sick and injured horses, and took special care of the very young and the very old. He was kind to animals. I liked that."

"...pack tripped with Glenn's string of white mules...Rimrock's white mules were rare and famous and were the lead attraction in Cody's Fourth of July Parade for many years."
